Nutrition and Dietetics Department Internship (Practice) Protocol

 

Nutrition and Dietetics Department internships consist of Public Health Nutrition Internship, Clinical Nutrition Pediatric Internship, Clinical Nutrition Adult Internship, Collective Nutrition Systems Internship, and External Hospital and Institution Internship.

 

Community Nutrition Internship

  • This internship allows students to learn the knowledge they have gained in the field of Community Health and Nutrition by making observations and practices in the field, researching and collecting data on the field of work of the Community Health/Public Health Dietitian, seeing the problems on the spot, and providing nutrition education for the improvement and development of the nutritional status, aims to gain the necessary knowledge-skills. Internships, hospitals, community health centers where preventive health services are carried out, family health centers, dispensaries, nursing homes and nursing homes for the elderly, kindergartens and day care centers, kindergartens, nutrition counseling centers, sports centers and sports clubs and sports summer schools and/or in-person home/ with family visits.

 

  • Internships are carried out under the supervision of teaching staff and responsible dietitians.

 

  • The working time for the internship will be determined by the academic staff in charge of the internship according to the working hours of the hospital or institution where the student does the internship.

 

Clinical Nutrition Child Internship

  • This internship will enable students to apply the knowledge and skills they have gained in theoretical and laboratory courses to the real work area, to gain the skills and ability to work with health personnel and administrative units in charge of patient care and treatment, and to teach the profession of dietitian (duties, responsibilities, working areas, working techniques, etc.). It is done in the University Hospital and/or in the health institutions deemed appropriate by the Department Head in order to ensure that the professional staff learn about the difficulties and observations they encounter, and have knowledge and skills on the solutions to them.

 

  • Internships are carried out under the supervision of instructors and responsible dietitians.

 

  • The working time for the internship will be determined by the academic staff in charge of the internship according to the working hours of the hospital or institution where the student does the internship.

 

Clinical Nutrition Adult Internship

  • This internship will enable students to apply the knowledge and skills they have gained in theoretical and laboratory courses to the real work area, to gain the skills and ability to work with health personnel and administrative units in charge of patient care and treatment, and to teach the profession of dietitian (duties, responsibilities, working areas and working techniques, etc.). It is done at the University Hospital and/or other health institutions deemed appropriate by the Department Head in order to ensure that the professional staff have knowledge and skills on the difficulties and observations they encounter and the ways to solve them.

Collective Nutrition Systems Internship

  • This internship is at the University Hospital and/or in order to enable students to apply the knowledge and skills they have gained in theoretical and laboratory courses to the real work area, to learn methods in accordance with scientific principles in the mass nutrition system, and to have knowledge and skills in all processes from purchasing food to removing waste. done in other institutions and organizations.
