About the Department

Establishment: Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University Faculty of Health Sciences was established in accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 13.06.2016 and numbered 2016/8969 published in the Official Gazette dated 03.08.2016 and numbered 29790. As of the 2021-2022 academic year, the Department of Child Development at the Faculty of Health Sciences started to accept students for the undergraduate program.

Admission and Registration Conditions: Candidates will be able to enroll in the program, provided that they get enough points from the score types determined by OSYM.

Bachelor's degree: Students with at least 240 ECTS who successfully complete all the courses, including the applications in the four-year education plan, are awarded a bachelor's degree in the Department of Child Development.

Language of Instruction: The language of instruction of the department is Turkish.

Measurement and Evaluation: Measurement and evaluation are carried out according to the principles of Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education - Training and Examination Regulations

Child Development Department covers all developmental areas (physical, motor, cognitive, language) of children aged 0-18 with normal development, with special needs, in need of protection (living in a normal/special needs institution, working, refugee and delinquent children) and hospitalized children. , social and emotional development and self-care skills) in addition to developing programs that support children, families, professionals and the society, it was established to train child developmentalists and to conduct scientific studies in the field of child development.

The main goal of Child Development is to support the development of normal children aged 0-18, with special needs, acute and chronic diseases, in need of protection and at risk.

Child developmentalist develops tools for evaluating children's development; provides consultancy to people, institutions and organizations related to the field in line with their needs; Provides publishing and research services.S/He develops projects related to children, families, educators and society by using contemporary approaches, and implements and disseminates the projects in a way that will benefit children and families from all segments of the society.

Our graduates, with their child developmentalist titles; developmental diagnosis and revealing appropriate education programs according to the results of this diagnosis with an eclectic approach, providing counseling to families; It also provides services such as taking appropriate measures to support development for children with developmental deviations as a result of diagnosis, on the basis of children, families and educators. Similarly, in the field of special education, it carries out the developmental diagnosis of children with special needs and carries out its services by dealing with the necessary measures for the child and family with the relevant professionals within the framework of a multidisciplinary approach.
