Background
Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University Faculty of Health Sciences was established under the decision of the Council of Ministers dated June 13, 2016 and numbered 2016/8969, which was published in the Official Gazette dated August 3, 2016 and numbered 29790. Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing started to accept students in the 2018-2019 academic year. There are seven departments in the Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences. These departments are Fundamentals of Nursing, Internal Medicine Nursing, Surgical Nursing, Obstetrics, Gynecology and Diseases Nursing, Child Health and Diseases Nursing, Mental Health and Diseases Nursing, and Public Health Nursing. Master's Degree education in Surgical Diseases Nursing has been given since the 2020-2021 academic year.
Academic Degree Earned: A bachelor's degree in the field of nursing is conferred on students with at least 240 ECTS who successfully complete all courses including the practices in the four-year education plan.
Language of Instruction: The language of instruction of the department is Turkish.
Measurement and Evaluation: Measurement and evaluation procedures are carried out according to the principles of Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Testing Regulations and Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University Graduate Education Regulations.
The Program: The Department of Nursing is an applied health discipline that deals with the health status of individuals, families, and society. Nursing includes getting to know people and performing the care and practices they need in health and sickness that they experience throughout life. The Department of Nursing gives four-year undergraduate and graduate education to teach professional knowledge and skills to students. In the first three years of the four-year program, theoretical and practical education is provided together, and the education also includes internship practices to enable students to transfer the knowledge they have gained in previous years into practice and thus prepare for professional life after graduation.
The primary goal of our nursing department is to educate nurses who have the competency to protect and improve the health of the individual and society and to plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care in light of evidence-based practices in case of sickness, who can think critically and combine academic excellence and research elements, and who have leadership qualities and maintain lifelong learning responsibility.
Employment of Graduates:
Students who graduate from this department can work as managers and clinical/academic nurses in all public and private health institutions.
